Happenings….

….around TheGreatWall….
Not much…..
Outside of no rain –thought this was rainy season?– for over a week,
and temps in the 90’s,
and humidity to match.
Meaning if you have gardening to do
….and who doesn’t at this time of year?…
you had better have your butt outside,
working in the garden by 7:30AM.
And be done by 11AM,
and soaking that butt in the pool for the rest of the afternoon.

After 4:30,or so,it just might be cool enough to take the camera out and see what’s going on…..

The plumerias are blooming like crazy….

The first year the pink and yellow has bloomed!I’m in love with this one!

The yellow carries on.The original cutting for this came from my dad’s garden in St.Petersburg, before he passed.

Cats on the parsley.I always plant extra just for this reason.

How are you doing in this Florida heat?

Wilting?

…or just floating in the pool?
I vote for floating in the pool…..

  1. Oh my gosh, I LOVE your red plumeria!

You are so right about working outside. I try to get started by 8 and done by 11. Drink plenty of water too to keep hydrated. A.C. feels so great. I don’t have a pool, but I have a jacuzzi, and the water temp is around 80 so it’s refreshing.

Have a wonderful weekend ~ FlowerLady

  3. Yes, your red plumerias are beautiful. Mine are still dormant. hahaha. I don’t know if they just don’t get enough sun in my yard or if it’s too cool for them. Maybe next year they’ll come around. We’ve been in the 70’s but I heard Monday it’s supposed to get up to 90. Maybe not up here though, and Lake Ontario is still pretty cold so probably won’t be swimming yet. We got lots of rain since Tuesday and we needed it. Have a great week!

  4. Sue-my SIL tried growing plumerias in St.Louis.She over wintered her’s in their garage.Tho they leafed out, they never bloomed for her. So,she gave up.I have come to believe the hotter and sunnier it is,the happier they are. They like a good drenching but they don’t like to have wet feet.

  5. So many pretty pictures, Christene. Especially nice shots of the plumerias. that dark pink/purple one is so my color!

  6. Your flowers are gorgeous. I have become addicted to Plumerias also. Yours are gorgeous…l
